Noah and the Ark

Last week for FHE our lesson was on Noah and the Ark.
So for our activity, we made our own mini "arks and planned to race them down the river.
This, however was way easier said than done.
We meant to go the same night we made them, but we finished way to late.
The next time we tried, McKayla fell off our very high porch and face planted on the cement driveway.
Needless to say, that squelched any boat racing plans
And then on our third try, we actually made it to the river only to find signs everywhere saying that chemicals had been put in the water that day and doing anything with or near the water was prohibited.

Then finally, a week later, we made it to the river to race our "arks".

As you can tell, it is not hard to figure out who the party pooper was by neither smiling for the picture or writing his name on his ark.

See that bandaid? It's covering the huge gash on her face. We are still working on getting rid of it.

Kyle's ark ended up winning. But it probably would have had a little more of a run for it's money if the other three arks hadn't got permanently stuck under the very first bridge.

That is a fun idea! Thanks for the inspiration! My kids are going to think I am awesome and really I am just stealing ideas!
