It is time

For an update. Yes I know. But what I do not understand is why it takes so long for me to get motivated to do this. Maybe it is because our lives really are not that interesting right now. Or, maybe it is because I am not a fast updater- it takes me forever. Maybe it is both. Nontheless, the time for an update has come.
Last night Kyle and I spoke in the youth fireside that I had mentioned a few weeks previous. I think that it went quite well. We also were asked to speak in Sacrament meeting on Mother's Day. They said that they thought it would be good to have an expecting mother talk. I thought to myself- that sounds that an awful idea! Who wants to listen to a pregant person talk about something that she has never done- plus all of the emotions! And Kyle got another calling, but he told me that I couldn't tell until next week when he gets sustained.

Lately I have been working on my baby projects. In doing this I have relearned how to crochet- thanks to my mom who taught me over the phone. I will post a picture when I am done.
I have been going to help Kyle at work for the past week or two. It has been really fun actually because we have seen each other more lately than we have in the past couple of months. I am not sure about how much I am actually helping because I have gottne slower and we have to stop and eat when we usually wouldn't. But it has been nice and Kyle even said today that it feels like we are dating again! I also go swimming almost every day now. I love the exercise and how I an stretch and feel like I am not huge for awhile. However, I will say that it was pretty weird when I found out that I can't really float on my back like I used to be able to- It takes a lot more work!!
Finally, I hit my 24 week mark last Wednesday. I know that I say this all the time but THIS PREGNANCY IS GOING BY SO FAST!! I can't believe it. On the last appointment that I went to I was 22 weeks and six days. The doctor measured me and said that I was measuring at 24 weeks. I have my glucose test in 2 weeks and was wondering if I would have a better chance of passing it if I ate a lot of sugar the day before or if it would be better if I ate no sugar the day before. I know that I have to got into the appointment fasting, but was wondering about the day before. All you moms, let me know.

Here are the 24 weeks pictures.

Happy Spring!!

Isn't spring the best? Now I know that for many of you, spring has yet to come. But it is here is Henderson and I love it. And no, I don't feel even a little bit bad for talking about how wonderful it is because when you all are enjoying the summer weather I will be 7-9 months pregnant in 110-120 degree weather. So it comes out about even right?
We have been so busy. Last week Kyle was looking on Craigslist and he found an entertainment center that he really wanted. We went and looked at it one night and I was really hesitant about buying it but Kyle was so excited about it that we ended up getting it. It was only $75.00, which was a pretty good deal.
I wish that I had taken a picture of it before we started changing things but I forgot. Anyway, this is the middle piece of the entertainment center. And this was the original color.
Here it is after Kyle spent hours on Saturday staining it. We definitely like the darker color better than what it was before. When we first got it there were tinted glass windows on all of the open cabinent spaces and with the light wood color it looked really gross. We are thinking that we still want it to be darker- like an espresso color. So in a couple of weeks we will, or should I say Kyle will do that. We like it though and think that it has a lot of potential.
So I am not one of those pregnant people who has the daily cravings. I like to call what I have the weekly or bi-weekly cravings. Kyle and I can't help but to laugh at this because I will think of something that sounds good and then it seems like that is all that I eat for a week or two. Here are some examples: Ramen noodles, corn dogs, bacon tomato sandwiches, cocoa dino bites and granola.
This weeks craving has been strawberries. Luckily we got an add from Albertsons where they were selling 1 pound of strawberries for $1.00. Such a great deal! So I went and bought 8 pounds. That way I could have some and I could also make some homemade jam. The first batch didn't turn out that great but I am really happy with the second batch. I feel so proud of myself!! And, in a couple of weeks I am learning how to make fruit leather and I am really excited.
