Yes, I do realize that it has been forever

I know, I know, I am way overdue for an update. But, before I get started I would like to say that I can't put up any pictures because we do not currently have our camera cord- Sorry.

The first, and possibly biggest news is that Kyle and I were able to graduate together on Decemeber 12th. We have sacrificed and worked very hard to make it to this point and I must say that I am rather proud of the both of us. There were 42 couple who were graduating together and we got to be one of them. My favorite part was when the graduates started walking towards the main gym. All of the BYUI faculty lined the walkway path and we were able to see all of our old teachers. Call me sentimental, but I almost couldn't help but to cry because seeing all of my teachers old brought back many memories. There are a few of those teachers that I feel have had a very positive impact upon my life and I will be forever grateful. Another cool thing was that both Kyle and I got to shake Elder Uchtdorf's hand!! He was at the end of our line, which was not something that I expected. So when I came up to him the only thing I could think of was to shake his hand- that was literally the only thing that crossed my mind. And, the fact that he wasn't shaking hands, and that his hands were burried deep into is pockets did not derail me. So when I walked up to him I stuck out my hand- without saying anything- which surprised him. He shoke it and told me crongratulations and then before he could put his hands back into his pockets Kyle did the exact same thing. I know it may seem wierd to have so much excitement for just shaking someone's hand, but he is afterall an apostle.

So we have recently heard a rumor. It is that President Clark asked the faculty to pray that it wouldn't snow until school was over. I do not know if this is true, because the day after graduation was much like a on and off blizzard. And yes, this was the day that we were supposed to move. Part of me wanted to think that that was really cool- how prayers could be answered like that. But the other part of me wanted to think "Come on President Clark, couldn't you have said maybe two days after graduation?" My sister and her husband had planned to come up to Iceburg and move us with their snowmobile trailer. But because of the enormity of the storm, they had to turn around. We were so depressed. Talk about thinking that you were going to be moving away from a frozen tundra, just to find out that you are really not. The good news was that it stopped snowing for a little bit later that afternoon. So, my sister and her husband tried again. Thankfully, they were able to make it through the several passing storms alive and continued on to Rexburg. Kyle went out to recruit our neighbors to help us move. Our movers got there at 5:15 that night and I think that everybody thought we were crazy to consider continuing. But we had no other choice, it was only going to get colder and snowier in the next couple of days. I think that we set a record time for packing- it only took 20 minutes, and we were on our way at 5:45. The drive back to Utah was good after we passed Blackfoot. However, there was a time when a semi passed us and caused a whiteout for about ten seconds. I thought that we were going to die. We are so thankful to those who fed us, packed us and moved us. We definitely couldn't have done it without you.

Since then, our plans have drastically changed. We are no longer moving to Utah and working at the company that we had orginally planned. Another opportunity recently came into the picture and we have decided to take it. So, we will be moving to LAS VEGAS Nevada within the next month. This has been a great faith building experience. I have learned that even though Las Vegas is not my first- or second- choice in places to live, the thing that matters most is that we are together- as cheesy as that sounds. We have both learned that even though you make plans, that does not mean that those plans will not change. And I feel that we have been guided and directed in this area- which is a blessing. Now we just need to find a way to get all of our stuff down to Vegas. I don't know if I dare ask my sister and her husband for another favor, especially after our last moving experience.

We will be spending this Christmas in Texas, which is where we are now. I flew in last night and lets just say that it was not a pleasant experience. When I fly I have to work very hard on not being sick and not throwing up- in fact, the best flights are when I can just fall asleep through the whole thing. Unfortunately I was sitting next to a man who not only took up about half of my sit, but he passed some gas, and wanted to talk to me after he had burped up some tomato juice- several times. Yes, it was disgusting. Oh, and he took my seat by the window, which cut out the sleeping possibility. You may be asking yourself, "Why didn't Amanda make him give her her ticketed seat?". All I can say to that is- how would you like to be trapped, with no escape between a window and a very large man for two and a half hours? My point exactly. Kyle flew in today from Vegas. Not only did he get first class, but he also had a huge seat, a good meal, yummy salted nuts, a warm damp towel to wipe his face and hands on, and a QUIET, SLEEPING neighbor. Is it just me or does something seem wrong with this picture??

Anyway- when I find my camera cord I will put up pictures of the above events. Hope everybody has a merry Christmas. Stay posted for Moving Adventure #2.
